Letter from Sergeant Roe

Hello, I wanted to tell everyone that I'm really happy to be at Hopewell Elementary. You all have made me feel welcome at your school.

I wanted to take just a minute to tell you all a little about myself. I was born and raised in Cleveland. I attended Cleveland High School and afterwards, I went on to Cleveland State and majored in Criminal Justice. I am married to Sherri Epperson Roe, and we have two children, Sarah Ann and Colton Jack. Sarah attends school at Girls Preparatory School and is in the 9th grade. Colton attends Lake Forest and is a 7th grader. I am a Christian and we attend Washington Avenue Baptist Church.

I have been with the Bradley County Sheriff's Office for 12 years. I started my career as a corrections officer in the jail. I was later promoted to the rank of sergeant and supervised the Fugitive Extradition/Transport Division for 6 years. I also served as a patrol deputy in the southeast part of the county. I have enjoyed all assignments that I have had, but at this point, I'm really excited about being with you all and the children.

If there is ever anything that I can help you with, please don't hesitate to ask. I look forward to the rest of this school year and getting to know each and every one of you.

Deputy Mitch Roe, SRO
